AI Act deadline banners
The tier-driven AI Act deadline banners on the Obligations page — amber for the high-risk enforcement countdown, blue for GPAI in-force, red for prohibited. These banners are informational reminders, not an automatic filing or notification to any authority.

Where the banners appear
The banners appear on the Obligations page, driven by your AI Act classification tier (see AI Act classification wizard). They do not appear on the dashboard.
What each banner means
- Amber (high-risk) — "Annex III high-risk AI obligations become enforceable on 2 December 2027 — N days left." This banner counts down to the high-risk enforcement date and is the only variant with a live countdown. (Annex I product-embedded systems follow 2 August 2028.)
- Blue (GPAI) — "General-purpose AI rules have been in force since 2 August 2025." A static reminder, no countdown.
- Red (prohibited) — "Prohibited AI practices (Art. 5) have been banned since 2 February 2025 — this use must stop." A static reminder, no countdown.
Article 50 transparency obligations (chatbot disclosure, deepfake labelling, etc.) still apply from 2 August 2026. Only the machine-readable content-marking obligation under Article 50(2) has a grace period for systems already placed on the market before that date, with a deadline of 2 December 2026.
Limited-risk and minimal-risk tiers show no banner.
Informational, not a filing
These banners are reminders only. They do not file anything, contact any authority, or change your obligations. They reflect your classification tier and the Act's enforcement dates — nothing more.
The incident countdown is separate
The per-incident countdown badges in the AI Incident register (and the dashboard's open-incidents widget) are a different surface — they count down each incident's statutory notification window, not the tier enforcement dates above. Do not confuse the two: the tier banner is a date reminder; the incident countdown is your Article 73 filing window.
Where these dates come from
The dates on this page come from the EU AI Act — Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 — as amended by Regulation (EU) 2026/1744 of 8 July 2026, the Digital Omnibus on AI, published in the Official Journal on 24 July 2026 and in force from 27 July 2026.
The Omnibus does more than reschedule deadlines: it also inserts new prohibited practices into Article 5 of the AI Act, which apply from 2 December 2026. It is a distinct instrument from the separate Digital Omnibus covering data and privacy law, so we always name it in full.

Keeping these dates current
Regulatory deadlines change. We review every dated AI Act claim in the product, roadmap, and docs at the start of each quarter, and whenever the EU publishes an amending act in the Official Journal. If you spot a stale date, open an issue and tag it compliance.
